Your First Class at our Fitness Studio
SWEAT has designed its classes for all levels of cardiovascular fitness, plus we offer 60 minute BarreCardio which are great places to start. If you feel nervous, scared or a little intimidated, that’s no problem because many people feel that way initially. Do not let it stop you from coming to try a class. Plus, why not, your first class is free! Our instructors and coaches will take good care of you and you should know that with a little practice and experience, you’ll quickly feel right at home.
We request that you to wear long running or yoga style workout pants and lightweight tennis shoes or socks are recommended. Midriff must be kept covered. All cell phones and pagers must remain in the locker area. Please no gum chewing or talking during class. Even though we do not permit open containers, smoothies, or beverages in the class, you are certainly encouraged to bring your water bottle. These rules are to support classroom courtesy, safety and focus.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day so you’re well hydrated before coming to class. Good hydration supports the healthy function of all your body’s systems and it makes the heat feel comfortable rather than overwhelming. Don’t eat heavily within 2 hours of the start of class.
Be ready for class
Arrive 15-20 minutes early for your first class.
Please be sure to check in at the front desk. This gives us time for registration and orientation. Arriving early ensures a stress free and relaxed beginning to your SWEAT fitness regimen.
Bring a towel and drinking water
Don’t worry if you forget, because we have these items available at the studio for sale. We also have a wide selection of clothing for both men and women designed specifically for our classes and more.
Don’t think you have to get in shape before coming to class
That’s what we are here for! Come take your first class for free and then take classes as often as you possibly can. You will quickly lose weight, get in great shape, and feel like you can conquer anything!
Fitness Studio Dress Code
In Cardio classes, we encourage you to wear long running or yoga style workout pants. You have the option to wear tennis shoes or simply socks to keep your muscles and joints warm and protected which will reduce chance for injury. Long shorts or running tights (cropped tights are a good choice) and secure rubber soled athletic shoes are suggested. We also ask that your midriff be covered in all classes. In yoga we also we encourage you to wear long running or yoga style workout pants but we like to go barefoot. Don’t forget, we do offer for sale an amazing selection of workout clothes for men and women.
You will feel challenged during your class – everyone does!
Always listen to your body, but challenge yourself to achieve new limits. Never be afraid to stop or step out of class if you need to. It’s normal, especially when you first get started, to feel dizzy, nauseated or lightheaded but ALWAYS be sure to sufficiently fuel and hydrate yourself prior to class. As your body builds more cardiovascular endurance, you will notice that you will be able to go longer and harder. All the class veterans remember the journey they all had to get to where they are now, so they will be your biggest cheerleaders!
During class, nobody will look at you or judge you
Your instructor will guide you with compassion and respect and your classmates know exactly what it is like to get started. Plus, everyone is so focused and working so hard that they are really not looking at anyone else (honest and truly, cross our hearts). There’s no need or reason to be self-conscious. Just go with it and get in your zone.
Take your second class within 2 days
Your next class will help you work through any soreness and help you quickly build upon that cardiovascular base. Make up your mind to take 10 classes as quickly as possible, at least within a month. You will be amazed at the changes in your health, the changes in your body, your sleep, your mood, the way your clothes fit, and most of all, the way you feel about yourself.
